Question by : What are some basement redesigning ideas?
I have a basement that is completely finished. I have a couple blow up seats, a air hockey table, a ping pong table, a pretty big bar with a sink, mini fridge, a place to store drinks, etc. I also have a ESPN Game Center, a work out room filled with stuff i need to get rid of, a small TV, and a wii. However, it is growing old and unused. I want to redesign it so my tennage kids can have there friend down there. Any ideas on how i can make it better?

It sounds like the first thing you need to do is get some furniture. A sectional sofa, with reclining chairs built in, is a great way to maximize seating and have everyone be comfortable while watching TV or playing video games. You also want to have some tables, to set down drinks/food (don't forget the incredible ease of those folding tray tables - when not in use they take up almost no room because they fold down and are stored on their own rack)
Depending on how small the TV is, you may want to replace it with a flat screen - and hang it on the wall to free up floor space.
If the only lighting in the room is dim, or too bright with overhead fluorescents, add a few table or floor lamps around to let people adjust their own light preferences.
Also, if you are a fan of any particular team or hobby, putting together a collection of photos or team memorabilia on bookcases or in nice frames on the wall, will also give the room some continuity and a touch of your own personal style.
Oh and you might want to sell all the stuff in the workout room to help finance some of these purchases too!
Remember, make it inviting so people will want to come down there and spend time. Good luck!

I totally want to play that game. It’s like having your own air hockey table, only less obnoxious and cumbersome.
