Guide To Buying Father's Day Gifts
Men are notoriously hard to buy gifts for. Events like Fathers Day, birthdays and Christmas can create endless headaches for gift giving wives, girlfriends, mothers and children desperately trying to find the suitable gift for their loved one.
Part of the confusion is caused by the fact whilst men like to claim they really aren't bothered about receiving a gift, deep down most men harbour a secret desire to have a complete fuss made of them and to be showered with gifts. Try giving a man a humble pair of novelty socks as a gift, and see them try and hide the disappointment on their face, as their dreams of being given their own personal full size working hovercraft are dashed. So how can you get ideas for gifts to give to men? Here are some ideas of themes and types of gifts to give.
Some people seem to think that men never grow up anyway, so 'big boys toys' can give you plenty of ideas for fun and entertaining gifts. Men love a gadget, and in recent years remote control gifts have burst onto the market. These days it seems that literally any gadget can be remote controlled, from fleets of flying helicopters to fork lifts, hovercrafts and tanks, plus of course the traditional cars and buggies.
Retro style gifts are always a popular type of gift to give. For example a retro style working telephone like an old fashioned 1950's bakelite style phone to an American rock and roll style phone, can be a great gift for a study, or home office.
Talking of offices, if your man spends his days chained to a desk, there are some great office gifts available to help add a little fun to his working day. Office gift ideas range from entertaining gifts like novelty mouse mats and mini desktop games, to useful gifts like stress balls or lumbar massage pillows, and even slightly less tasteful gifts, such as a Cat Bum Pencil Sharpener!
Gift experiences are another new type of gift to emerge in recent years, and needn't be confided to luxury spa days for the girls. Gift experiences for men include car track and racing days in high performance and classic cars, tank driving, flying, sky diving, powerboating, diving, and even monster truck driving.
As you would expect, there are also some great gifts for men available if you have a bigger budget, and enough space at home. For example, a full size American pool table, table football, or air hockey table should keep him and his friends occupied. Juke boxes are back in fashion, but with a difference - modern juke boxes have multi CD changers, LED lights, and even a remote control. If you can afford it, you can even buy a full size arcade machine to play classic video games plus the new generation of computer games which can connect to the arcade machine using a PS3 games console.
As well as high street stores, a great source of gift ideas for men is the Internet, with many sites specialising in gadgets and technology gifts. With just a little thought and research it should be possible to find the perfect give for the man in your life.

HOW CAN PEOPLE WATCH THIS ENTIRE THING
I think Dayton will do the best at fixing our education but I don't like the idea of unequal tax percentages among income brackets. That concept just seem so un-American to me. I really like Dayton's answer about abortion but I really like Emmer's dedication to reduce government interference and spending. This is as hard decision. Horner just kinda seems like a worm
@Foderick
You should read his plan or hear some other things he's said. He didn't go into it there but he explains more thoroughly what he meant by that.
I won't say who I am for or against, just please go out and vote!! It is our duty and we have had close races before here in MN. Vote from your gut-I am still stuck between 2 of the candidates, but the other I have absolutely no plans to EVER vote for!
I was all Emmer at 1st, but he absolutely flopped on the abortion issue, which is one of my major concerns. Now it is up in the air between Emmer and Horner, although Emmer is pro-life and I am not sure Horner is, so I will probably still be Emmer, but that was just a huge let down.
Our choices for governor:
The worst U.S. Senator in history
A corrupt independent who won't take a position on anything
And a down to earth, common sense conservative-one of us!
Emmer loses it @ 52:20!
Keep denying we are 5.8B in the hole next budget cycle... lol! Show us the specifics already on how you plan to turn that around!!!
Why does everyone keep letting Emmer get away with saying that he has a plan??? As of September 8th, 2010, he absolutely does not have a plan!
He does not have a budget proposal. Nowhere does he show how he plans to cut 5.8 BILLION dollars out of our state budget. Tom Emmer won't even acknowledge the 5.8 billion dollar budget deficit that Tim Pawlenty is leaving behind!
SHOW US YOUR PLAN! Tell us the specifics! Do it already!!!
emmer is a fat ---WHEN PURE,THE FATS ARE ODORIESS,TASTELESS, AND COLORLESS AND MAY BE EITHER SOLID OR LIQUID-HE IS LIQUID ALL ALCOHOL -AND HE IS ALL FATTY ACIDS
Whew...I am so glad I checked today. I had just about given up all hope of new blog entries.
I was sorry to hear about Levi and RSV...that can be some scary stuff to listen to, and you feel bad for the little ones because you know it's got to be uncomfortable for them too.
I'm glad you're back in CA...I know Michelle must be glad/relieved to have you home.
Just to tell you that I know it was rough for you to make the trip to Indiana, but, I was SOOOOO glad to see you. I didn't know how much I had missed being with my little brother!!! Speaking for myself, I really enjoyed the time we spent together. Sounds weird since we there for a funeral, but I was glad to be with my brothers.
Thanks for continuing your blog. It's a great way to show Owen who you are and all about your family. Owen saw your picture and was like "who's that"...told him it was my brother, and he said "what kind of brother" . This is his latest thing...he said he wanted you to come to our house so he could show you his air hockey table...interesting since we don't HAVE an air hockey table!!
awww.... LASERFORCE - massive love for that place, those little 10 year old kids always seem to be way better then us??? but when i was 10 the older dudes were frikken deadly.... so the question is where are the "old school" vets from laserforce... they must be kicking around somewhere watch Beverly Hills Cop maybe?
next MY FICTION band meeting will be held there... by the air hockey table =D
